Peter Stoyan (1900-1979) was born in Macedonia, Greece and came to Canada in 1914 where he studied at the Ontario College of Art (1918-24) under J.W. Beatty, George Reid, Fred Haines and Arthur Lismer also in New York City.
Working in oil, watercolour, coloured chalk, acrylic and dry point etching, his subjects include landscape, still life, portraits and abstracts.
He painted in Ontario & Manitoba and exhibited with the RCA. in 1925.
