He and his wife, artist Phyllis Irwin, lived in Toronto for most of their working life and for the last 21 years on a farm in the Northumberland Hills north of Cobourg, Ontario. Ketch was an accomplished watercolourist who primarily painted country scenes (barns were a recurring theme) and his work has been displayed at juried shows and numerous fund raising events.
In 2016 Ketch donated hundreds of his watercolour paintings for a fundraiser for the Port Hope Friends of Music. It was a smashing success with over $10,000 raised for the organization.
Unfortunately, Ketch passed away in December of 2018.
His wife, Phyllis Irwin, has offered to donate many of Ketch’s remaining paintings to Friends of Music to raise funds for the organization. The money will be added to the Friends of Music funds to both support their programme and a grant to a worthy arts organization in Northumberland County.
